Dear Union-- Since 2000, our congregation has boldly resisted the anti-gay policy of our denomination. Despite the outcome of this week's special session of the General Conference in St. Louis, Union will continue to always be an LGBTQ-affirming church and a safe space that will embrace everyone as a beloved child of God. This Sunday, March 3rd, I will host congregational meetings following both the 8am and 11am worship services, in order to debrief further and unpack practical details of the denomination’s vote. During our Sunday services of worship of the “God of the oppressed,” we will lament, reflect, and recommit ourselves to our liberative calling as Christians. Won’t you join me? -- Pastor Jay
The Love of God cannot be legislated. We proclaim today more than ever that no matter what the Church said -- you are STILL a child of God, and there is nothing that can separate you from that Truth.
